– The Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the Study of the Arctic and Antarctic was established under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Council is an expert and scientific advisory body of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Council was created for the purpose of planning and coordinating fundamental scientific research in the polar regions of the Earth.
