I Coordination Meeting on Research and Use of Stable Isotopes for Tracking Bird Migration

27-31 August 2018 The first coordination meeting on the study and use of stable isotopes for tracking bird migrations by molecular nuclear diagnostics to study the epidemiology and ecology of highly pathogenic avian influenza was held on the basis of the FGBNU FRC FTM and FGBNU ISiEZh SB RAS (stage II). The event was organized by And. Socks (Mr Ivancho Naletoski)(Vein, Austria, IAEA), Acting Director of FITS FTM, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor A.M. Shestopalov and M.Sc.. Laboratory of Structural Foundations of Pathogenesis of Socially Significant Diseases, Federal Research Center FTM M.A.. Gulyaeva. Meeting participants included representatives from Nigeria – prof. Shivua M. (Shiiwua Manu)( Institute of Ornithological Research. AND. P. Leventis , Joss University, ); England - Ph.D.. Slomka M. (Marek Slomka)( Animal and Plant Health Agency); Iran - Ph.D.. Hedarieh M. (Marzieh Heidarieh) (Research Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology); Korea – D.V.N., Jeong S. (Konkuk University); Germany - Harder T. (Tim Harder) (Frederick-Loeffler Institute) and d.n.. Voit K. (Christian Voigt) (Leibniz Institute for the Study of Zoology); Romania - Tamba P. (Paula Tamba) (Institute for Diagnostics and Animal Health) and Russia - Ph.D.. Irza V.N. (FGBNU "ARRIAH") and Ph.D.. Varkentin A.V. (FGBNU "ARRIAH").

On the first day of the coordination meeting, held at FGBNU FITS FTM, discussed plans for joint work. The reports of Doctor of Biological Sciences were heard., prof. Shestopalova A.M. (FRC FTM, Russia) and Ph.D.. Yurlova K.A.. (ISiEZh SB RAS, Russia) about works, carried out by the scientists of the Federal Research Center of the FTM and ISiEZh to study the spread of new viral pathogens by migratory birds, and, Ph.D.. Druzyak AV. (ISiEZh SB RAS, Russia), who informed about migratory birds, living in Western Siberia.

FROM 28.08 by 31.08. a joint expeditionary trip to the biological station of the ISiEZ SB RAS "Chanovsky scientific station" was carried out (Zdvinsky district), where the meeting was continued and a demonstration collection of field material was carried out. Presentations were made by Ph.D.. Sharshov K.A.. (FRC FTM, Russia), talked about highly pathogenic variants of influenza viruses, isolated in wild birds in the Asian part of Russia; D.V.N. Irza V.N. (FGBNU "ARRIAH", Russia), with a report on highly pathogenic variants of influenza viruses, isolated in poultry throughout Russia; Slippers And. (IAEA, Austria) and d.n.. Voit K. (Leibniz Institute for the Study of Zoology, Germany) talked about safety measures and rules, used in sampling biological material.
